How are glass splashbacks painted?
To produce a back-painted glass splashback, we first cut a piece of glass to the appropriate size, according to the dimensions requested in the order.
The glass is then toughened by heating it up and cooling it down very quickly, which strengthens the glass to ensure it is durable enough for installation in a kitchen.
Finally, the glass is cleaned and prepared for painting. We prepare the chosen paint colour and apply it carefully to one side of the glass, creating even layers.
Once painted, the glass can be heat-treated and a special coating applied to seal the paint and protect the bonded layers. It will then be ready to mount on a wall using a suitable adhesive.
What are the benefits of toughened painted glass?
When a glass splashback is painted on the back side, this creates the visual impression of a deep and rich colour, which is even more striking to the eye when the entire piece is one uniform colour.
Painted toughened glass is both extremely robust and easy to incorporate into any kitchen, as you don’t have to worry about clashing designs or fussy patterns. You can just enjoy the simple beauty of one solid shade, shining in the light on the glass.
A painted kitchen splashback is relatively light, affordable, and straightforward to mount, all while creating a bright focal point for your interior design.
With a modern, upscale appearance and a conveniently low-maintenance structure that’s hygienic and quick to wipe clean, what’s not to like about our toughened painted glass kitchen splashbacks?
Is a painted glass splashback right for my kitchen?
A glass splashback provides a simple method of updating a shabby kitchen, but with so many styles to choose from, you might wonder which one is right for you.
Your kitchen décor and the size of the space where you intend to mount the kitchen splashback should inform your search – measure the area in advance to make sure you select the right dimensions when you order.
When browsing the selection on our website, you may find that there isn’t quite a print or paint colour that suits your taste. This is where painted kitchen splashbacks shine – you can choose any colour from a standardised provider and EGW can match it.
So, if you want a kitchen splashback that matches a specific shade in your kitchen from brands like Dulux, Pantone, Farrow & Ball, or Laura Ashley, then a custom painted glass splashback could be the solution you’ve been searching for.
